PLACES OF INTEREST

in France, after the Eiffel Tower.

Le Mont is only a 20 minute drive from Les Jasmins.

The Bayeux Tapestry was woven in
England shortly after the Battle of
Hastings in 1066, on the orders of
Odon, Bishop of  Bayeux and half
brother of William the Conqueror.
It is 70 mtrs long and has 58 panels
portraying the events leading up to
and including the famous battle that
resulted in the conquest of England.

Whilst in Bayeux why not make a day
of it and visit Arromanches and see
some of the D Day landing beaches.
Whilst there we especially recommend
you to the 'Cinema in the Round', a
360
º nine screen cinema that places
you in the centre of the action.  The
film, 'The Price of Freedom' uses film
shot on D Day and soon afterwards,
and also the present day in more
peaceful surroundings.
